1. Blue jay

feather flutters down
blue jay flying from willow
treasure in the grass

2. Blue jay also

feather in the grass
spied while feeding birds
blue jay thankyou

3. Forgotten haiku

so many haiku
millions of snow flakes falling
blizzard in my brain

4. Lettuce

lettuce fat with rain
down in the vegetable patch
sits and waits for more

hanging out washing
lily perfume turns the head
yellow dazzles eyes

1. Saw this from my kitchen window today.
Went and retrieved feather and stuck it in a flower-pot outside. Will a blue jay grow?
2. Well, it happened again: day 2 and another feather. If this goes on I may end up with 31 feathers by the end of the haikuwrimo and a bald blue jay in my garden.
3. because I completely forgot to come up with a haiku yesterday even though I read loads of other peoples - haiku overload.
4. We bought lots of lettuce plants thisyear and they are doing very well. Yummy!

18. Thought of a haiku for this day and it's completely gone from my head.
6. Well, after three days of no feathers I thought the blue jay feather thing was over, but as I was tending the garden yesterday lo and behold i see another feather on the ground right by the pot where I stuck the first two.
7. Getting down and dirty now!
8. Title comes from a very funny song that there is a great NFBC animation for: The Black Fly Song. We went for a walk yesterday evening and got bitten by loads of black flies, and there were mosquitos too!
9. Last evening down on the beach. Too beautiful for words - but I had a go anyway.
10. Sitting out having coffee en famille and the wind was blowing and the blue-jay feathers were stirring. Even my husband said that should be my next haiku. I'm going to take a picture of them and I can have it as a preview.
