June Twelfth
Twelfth Night
another block in the way
and no blocking done
June Eleventh
The cashier:
"What do you call these?"
"Beetroots."
June Tenth
nothing but mist and rain
and bone dry plants
June Ninth
all over town
time spending
money wasting
June Eighth
sparkling clean
the kitchen floor
black mop
June Seventh
ill-prepared
did I take medication
or not?
June Sixth
daydreaming
a moose surprised
"O, my God!"
June Fifth
how satisfying
the little lettuce plants
in a row
June Fourth
unexpected
along the river bank
cherry blossoms
June Third
breathing
sweetly scented air -
violas
June Second
song wings
across the garden -
a robin
June First
light and dark
the woodland path
embraces

For June 2011 haikuthon: [link]
June Twelfth: Our rehearsals seem to be progressing very slowly and we have only a month before we open.
June Eleventh: At the grocery store the cashiers never seem to be able to recognise vegetables (What do they eat?). The big surprise this day was the girl who didn't recognise beets even though they are one of the few vegetables grown on the island!
June Tenth: We seem to be having nothing but damp weather and yet on Friday the garden plants were dried out.
June Ninth: Was at work by 7.30 and then sent away because I wasn't needed. Then had the whole of the day to kill in town until a rehearsal from 7-9. A long day. Walked a lot and bought a lot. Not sure if it really was a waste though.
June Eighth: After weeks of neglect finally got around to cleaning the kitchen floor. It isn't exactly sparkling now but the mop was black after I had finished cleaning.
une Seventh: So busy learning lines for the play that I did a less than stellar job learning the cases for work and couldn't remember whether I was supposed to have taken meds or not.
June Sixth: A moose suddenly stood up right in front of me when I was walking home via the woods. I ran like hell.
June Fifth: Out in the garden planting stuff.
June Fourth: driving back from the grocery store today in brilliant sunshine, the pin-cherry trees were blooming soft and whitely everywhere but especially beside the river.
June second and third are really more 4th and 5th events.
June First: walking back form the post office I took a short cut through the woods. The pattern of sun and shade was beautiful and relaxing.
